Sista,
I have seen a number of blogs which combine different media and topics successfully including Bible Study.
Also I have looked at a number of blogs that just do Bible study lessons on a periodic basis. Some once a week and others once a month or so.
Actually, I have personally tried each one of those options. All have been somewhat successful. It really is a matter of preference and the goals you have for your blogging experience and ministry.
For the first year or so I posted a Bible lesson on Mark at least once a month at my main blog- ‘Answers For The Faith’. I ended up creating a separate blog–’BIBLE Study’ to store the lessons in and make it easier to access.
Also, originally I also offered Bible ‘questions and answers’ on my main site. Soon it became obvious that it was better to put the ‘Q’s and ‘A’s all together so I started a separate blog– BIBLE Q & A.
Both Bible study sites are still connected to my main blog and accessible by a link in the right column. See: http://answersforthefaith.com

A Bible study blog was what I had in mind when I began blogging about a year ago. I wasn’t actually teaching every week, but I had mountains of material from the years previous. My intent was to fill my blog with outlines, notes, and complete lessons.
I am not a great typist and was very new at the ins and outs of linking and such. Posting was extremely time consuming, yet I found great satisfaction in it.
As time went on, I got involved in the social aspects of the blogging community and joined a couple of webrings. Seems that it was easier many times to follow the given theme or meme rather than do some serious posting.
My question is this: is it detrimental to a biblical studies blog to be punctuated with memes and such? If so, would I be better off to start another blog solely dedicated to biblical studies, even if it meant only one or two posts per month?
